SUMMARY:GRANT-AUS IGA Community Chest
DESCRIPTION:Raises funds to support local communities\, charities and other worthwhile causes. It could be in response to a major event like floods or bush fires or something as simple as new soccer balls for the local under 8’s. \n\n\nIGA Community Chest and associated programs have raised over $86 million for local community groups\, not-for-profit organisations\, charities and other worthy causes. This money has assisted over 7\,000 worthwhile causes. \nThe money is raised in a number of ways but predominately through the purchase of products with an IGA Community Chest logo on the label or ticket. Also through purchasing any Community Co product you can help your local IGA grow its Community Chest fund. \nWhen you purchase a product with the IGA Community Chest logo printed on the label a percentage is credited to that store’s IGA Community Chest account. During IGA Community Chest catalogue promotion weeks\, all products in the catalogue bearing the special IGA Community Chest logo contribute to the ‘Chest’. Throughout the year\, extra fundraising activities are conducted by stores and regions. \nIGA Community Chest beneficiary cheques are distributed throughout the year in most states. \nBecause IGA stores are independently owned\, each store will choose the local causes that they would like to support. Please find your local IGA and approach them directly. \nIGA uses a three-tier selection system:\n– Local causes are chosen by individual store owners\n– Regional causes are selected by clusters of stores or regional management\n– State-level initiatives are determined in consultation with State IGA executives or boards. \nPrepare a pitch and it may include:\n– An overview of your organisation and/or the individual that you’d like supported\n– What support are you looking for – monies\, donations of goods\, providing team jumpers\, holding regular fundraising at the store\, group registrations at the store\, etc\n– How the donation will be used and your timing. Is there anything you can offer in return to IGA?\n– Don’t forget to include your contact details. \nTypical grants include support for:\n– Local sports clubs (e.g. soccer jerseys\, equipment)\n– Schools (e.g. musical instruments or facility upgrades)\n– Emergency responses (e.g. flood relief)\n– Community services (e.g. men’s sheds\, RFS brigades). \nClick here to view full funding guidelines on the provider’s website.

SUMMARY:Student Voice Symposium & Student Voice Summit 2025
DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Seat | From voice to choice \n\n\nThursday 23 October (Student Summit) \n\n\nFriday 24 October (Student Voice Symposium) \n\n\nLocation: Griffith University Gold Coast & Online \n\n\nThis year’s theme challenges us to go further than giving students a seat at the table.\nIt’s about moving from simply listening to sharing real power. \nVoice is the first step – allowing students to be heard. Choice empowers students to co-create\, lead\, and enact change. When voice and choice come together\, education becomes more inclusive\, impactful\, and truly student-centred. \nBeyond the Seat invites us to rethink systems\, relationships\, and leadership\, so students help shape not just the conversation\, but the future. \nOur theme this year will be explored through four streams: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStructures That Listen: Student Voice in University Governance \n\nLearning Together: Co-Creating Curriculum and Pedagogy\nBelonging and Culture: Building Inclusive Communities\nLeadership in Action: Building Confidence and Capability

Is there anything you can offer in return to IGA?\n– Don’t forget to include your contact details. \nTypical grants include support for:\n– Local sports clubs (e.g. soccer jerseys\, equipment)\n– Schools (e.g. musical instruments or facility upgrades)\n– Emergency responses (e.g. flood relief)\n– Community services (e.g. men’s sheds\, RFS brigades). \nClick here to view full funding guidelines on the provider’s website.

SUMMARY:Webinar - Student perspectives on AI in higher education
DESCRIPTION:Student perspectives on AI in higher education\n\n\n\n\nWhile much of the debate about AI in higher education continues to focus on institutional policies and concerns for academic integrity\, less attention has been paid to the stories of students themselves. What motivates students to use or avoid GenAI? How do they weigh risks and benefits? What tensions do they grapple with as they integrate these technologies into their studies? \n\n\n\n\nFacilitated by CRADLE’s Dr Jack Walton\, this panel will feature researchers from the “AI in Higher Education” project: a large multi-institutional collaboration established in 2024 with the aim of foregrounding the student voice on AI. Reflecting on the work of the project to date\, the panel will discuss what has been learned so far about students’ perspectives and practices for studying in a world where AI has become commonplace. The panel will discuss key findings emerging from the project to consider implications for higher education learning and teaching\, and directions that research and practice need to take next. \nThe first webinar in CRADLE’s New Directions in AI Research and Practice series. \n  \n\n\n\n\nNew Directions in AI Research and Practice\n\n\n\n\nAs generative artificial intelligence continues to transform higher education\, the research landscape has begun to transition from speculative perspectives toward deeper empirical and theoretical insights. This webinar series brings together leading researchers to discuss what is being learned about AI’s impact on teaching\, learning\, and assessment\, and to chart pathways forward in both research and practice. \nThe panels in this series will speak to three critical facets of higher education in a time of AI: how students are working with AI\, changing assessment design practices\, and assessment security. \nWe hope that you can join us for this series of rich and timely discussions.

SUMMARY:Webinar - Project Management for Community Organisations
DESCRIPTION:Community boards often receive funding for specific one-off projects that are within scope of their strategic objectives but may not fall under the annual operational plan or budget. Boards may also develop projects to investigate an area of concern or solve a problem in the organisation. In these situations\, it’s important for organisations to be able to understand the roles of the board and of management in ensuring the project is managed appropriately in terms of inputs\, outcomes and compliance. \nProject management is different from day-to-day operations because projects involve multiple stakeholders\, are temporary\, and have measurable outcomes. \n\n\n\n\nThis session will cover: \n\nThe role of the board in project management\n\nStrategic planning\nStrategic alignment\nRisk analysis\nBudget\nMonitoring\nImpact evaluation\nCompliance\n\n\n\n\nThe role of management in project management\n\nDay-to-day management\nRisk management\nDelivery\nReporting

SUMMARY:Webinar - Communicating your values
DESCRIPTION:Institute of Community Directors have gathered a panel of very rare marketers from some very special organisations. \nEach of their brands has risen above the riff raff to attract millions in donations and purchases\, drive political change\, pause multi-billion industries and set the national agenda.
