SUMMARY:GRANT-AUS Creating Period Pride Competition
DESCRIPTION:Aims to end the shame and stigma that surrounds periods. \n\n\nShare the Dignity is asking young Australians in schools and community groups to create ‘Period Pride Media’ to inspire\, entertain and get people talking about periods! \nThe Creating Period Pride competition encourages Australia’s youth to submit creative\, thought-provoking content that aims to remove the shame and stigma associated with having a period. \nShare the Dignity believes creative thinking drives discovery and learning. They hope that by approaching the social issues surrounding menstruation with creativity they can create an awareness of stigmas\, encourage empathy and ultimately be part of the solution. \nCreating Period Pride entries must fit into one of the following categories:\n1. Video/short film\n2. Performed song\n3. Artwork\n4. Major art installation\n5. Written piece \nWhat you can win for your school or community group:\n– $5k overall winner\n– $2k second place\n– $1k third place\n– $1k category winners. \nThe first 100 new schools and community groups to register for the 2026 Creating Period Pride competition will be sent a Period Pride toolkit. The Creating Period Pride toolkit includes everything needed to get young people talking about periods and removing the shame and stigma around periods. SUMMARY:GRANT-AUS WE SWIM – Multicultural Community Water Safety Program
DESCRIPTION:Offers a national\, evidence-informed initiative to reduce drowning risk\, remove barriers to swimming and water safety education\, and build belonging for refugees\, recently arrived migrants and broader multicultural communities. \nThe WE SWIM Multicultural Community Water Safety Program is funded by the Australian Government and led by Royal Life Saving Society – Australia. Royal Life Saving Australia will bring together national coordination\, community partnerships\, and rigorous monitoring\, evaluation and learning into a single\, coherent program built around a commitment to saving lives\, removing barriers\, and building belonging. \nRoyal Life Saving Australia is providing national coordination and tiered place-based partnerships\, community programs and pathfinding projects that co-design culturally responsive activity across four pillars – WE CONNECT\, WE WELCOME\, WE PROMOTE and WE LEARN. \nAs a result\, multicultural communities will gain safer access to aquatic environments\, stronger swimming and water safety capability\, more trusted information and experience more welcoming venues. \nOver time\, this will reduce drowning risk\, remove barriers and build belonging for refugees\, recently arrived migrants and broader multicultural communities. \nThe Program prioritises:\n– Removing barriers to accessing lessons\, programs\, recreation and employment faced by multicultural communities\n– Boosting community resilience by facilitating subsidised\, culturally safe swimming and water safety education\n– Enhancing social cohesion by forging new links between multicultural communities and their local aquatic facilities\, swim schools\, and swimming and surf lifesaving clubs\n– Providing national coordination focused on generating momentum and co-investment\, raising water safety awareness\, and building networks across partners to maximise shared learning and success. \nThe Program focuses on four beneficiary groups\, reflecting the layered and evolving nature of drowning risk across the settlement journey:\n– Refugees engaged in humanitarian and settlement support programs\, often with low water safety awareness\, limited swimming skills and limited connection to local aquatic centres and swim schools\n– Recently arrived migrants (less than 10 years in Australia on non-humanitarian visas)\, who may face language\, financial and cultural barriers to learning swimming and water safety skills\n– Multicultural communities who have been in Australia longer term but still experience unequal outcomes because of access and equity barriers around water safety and aquatic participation\n– International students (where appropriate)\, who may have high exposure to aquatic environments but limited skills\, local hazard awareness and links to safe aquatic recreation. \nGrant Opportunities \n1. WE SWIM – Place Based Partnerships\n– This stream shift systems at scale – coordinating delivery across a diverse LGA or multi-LGA or regional corridors and hubs with concentrated overseas-born populations and elevated drowning risk.\n– Grant range: up to $100\,000 (excl. GST) per partnership \nA lead organisation applying on behalf of a consortium that includes:\n– At least two multicultural\, settlement or community partner organisations\n– At least one council or council representative\n– At least one water safety organisation and/or aquatic provider – a pool\, aquatic facility\, swim school or similar\n– The lead applicant must be an incorporated not-for-profit or incorporated body with the governance and financial capability to manage a partnership at this scale. \nHOW FUNDING IS USED\n– A strong in-water component required within the delivery allocation\n– Co-investment expected – matched or higher cash and in-kind contributions from consortium partners\n– No more than 20% to coordination \n2. WE SWIM – Community Programs\n– This stream delivers focused\, local change – addressing a specific barrier\, cohort or community\, building trust\, and creating pathways into sustained participation.\n– Grant range: up to $50\,000 (excl. GST) per partnership \nA lead organisation applying on behalf of a partnership that includes:\n– At least one community-based organisation serving multicultural\, refugee-background or settlement communities\n– At least one water safety organisation and/or aquatic provider – a pool\, aquatic facility\, swim school or similar\n– The lead applicant must be an incorporated not-for-profit or incorporated body with the governance and financial capability to manage a partnership at this scale. \nHOW FUNDING IS USED\n– A strong in-water component is required however dry-side and in-water activity are both eligible\, provided the connection to participation\, access or trust-building is clear\n– Co-investment expected – cash and/or in-kind (noncash) contributions\, such as venue access\, staff time\, transport or communications support\n– No more than 20% to coordination

By investing in organisations with vision and purpose\, they aim to strengthen communities and help great ideas go further. \nThe Bunnings Community Grants Program will allocate $1 million to invest over the next five years to support community groups across Australia and New Zealand. The program will commence with phase one in 2026. \nThe program provides targeted grants of up to $10\,000 (AUD) to support practical projects that deliver real\, local impact. Grants can be received as cash\, product or a hybrid of both. \nDesigned to complement existing store-led community support\, the program focuses on initiatives that strengthen resilience\, build capability and respond to genuine community needs. \nTo be eligible for the Bunnings Community Grants Program\, applicants must be a registered not-for-profit organisation in Australia (with a valid ABN) or New Zealand (with a valid NZBN).
