Facilitated by Avyon Consulting, these interactive Workshops are designed to help SEN members build safe, respectful & supportive campus communities.
As the Higher Education sector prepares for the implementation of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence, SEN is pleased to partner with Avyon Consulting to deliver an eight-part workshop series designed to help members strengthen their understanding, capability and confidence in creating safer campus environments. The series provides practical guidance that aligns with many of the principles underpinning the Code, including prevention, early intervention, trauma-informed practice, supportive responses and fostering cultures of respect and belonging.
Across eight interactive workshops, participants will explore topics including understanding the drivers of gender-based violence, responding to disclosures, trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, active bystander intervention, and leading positive cultural change. Delivered by experienced facilitators Kim Copeland and Gemma Edgar from Avyon Consulting, the program will equip staff and student leaders with practical tools to support students, contribute to prevention efforts, and build communities where safety, inclusion and respect are embedded in everyday practice.
This series represents an important opportunity for SEN members to build capability ahead of the Code’s implementation while sharing knowledge and strengthening a sector-wide commitment to safe, respectful and supportive campus communities. Through collective learning and action, we can continue to create environments where all students feel they belong and can thrive.
