UQ Union are looking for an organised and proactive Student Engagement & Communication Officer to join their Community team in a part-time role working 30 hours per week.
In this coordination-focused role, you’ll support the delivery of student engagement, welfare and community initiatives that make a genuine difference to the student experience. Working closely with Student Executives and key stakeholders, you’ll help translate strategic priorities into well-coordinated programs that strengthen student connection, wellbeing and belonging across UQU.
From coordinating volunteer programs and welfare campaigns to supporting student engagement initiatives and monitoring program outcomes, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our services are delivered effectively and continue to evolve to meet student needs.
This role works across UQU’s campuses, including satellite locations, and offers the opportunity to work alongside passionate staff and student leaders who are committed to creating positive change.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate the delivery of student engagement, welfare and community initiatives that enhance the UQ student experience.
- Partner with Student Executives to plan, coordinate and deliver programs, campaigns and events aligned with UQU’s strategic priorities.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding, rostering and engagement to support Community initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Student Executives, staff and external stakeholders, acting as a key coordination point across teams.
- Monitor program outcomes, analyse engagement data and prepare reports to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to operational planning and support the ongoing development of innovative, student-focused programs and services.

You’ll bring:
- Experience in a coordination, operational support or service delivery role, ideally supporting student engagement, welfare or community initiatives.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience working in a higher education, student union, not-for-profit or volunteer-based environment will be highly regarded.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in community services, education, business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
