UCX is seeking an experienced People & Culture leader to provide organisation‑wide leadership of people strategy, HR operations, governance and workplace culture. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior role is ideal for an HR Director or Head of People & Culture looking for a high‑impact permanent part‑time (0.6 FTE) opportunity with genuine flexibility in a profit-for-purpose organisation.
Based at the University of Canberra campus, the role partners closely with senior leaders and University stakeholders to ensure compliant, contemporary and people‑centred HR practices that support UCX’s strategic objectives.
The Associate Director, People and Culture is responsible for leading UCX’s end‑to‑end people function, including strategic workforce planning, HR operations, compliance, governance and culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing executive‑level HR leadership across the full employee lifecycle
- Leading and overseeing recruitment, contracts, onboarding and payroll oversight
- Acting as the senior authority on Enterprise Agreement interpretation and compliance
- Providing high‑level HR advice, coaching and support to leaders and managers
- Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, WHS and legislative requirements
- Managing workers compensation, insurance and people‑related risk and reporting
- Contributing to organisational strategy, governance and University initiatives
- Championing a high‑performance, inclusive and values‑driven culture
Employment & Remuneration
- Permanent part‑time role at 0.6 FTE (approximately 3 days per week)
- Flexible work arrangements available, including flexibility in how days are structured
- Salary: approximately $72,000 per annum + 15 % super (0.6 FTE) negotiable with experience
- Indicative full‑time equivalent salary: approximately $120,000 + 15 % super negotiable with experience
