As an organisation representing the interests of the students enrolled at the Clayton campus of Monash University, MSA provides services and support to over 45,000 students enrolled at the campus. MSA has more than 100 affiliated clubs and societies, all who are provided with support to run their operations and activities throughout the year.
MSA employs staff to work alongside the 9 student member C&S Executive to support the smooth operation, financial management and compliance requirements of these clubs. With growth in mind, the Clubs & Societies team is looking for a well organised, skilled and enthusiastic person to join the team as an Administration Assistant. This is a fixed-term 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
The main tasks of this role would include:
- Ensuring a professional standard of customer service is provided to all enquiries.
- Providing administrative support and assistance with processing club documents (including event approval requests, election results, and issuing attainment certificates), helping to create marketing and social media content, and being responsible for club resource allocations.
- Assisting the C&S Executive and other C&S staff with the organisation and running of events, including twice-yearly Orientation activities, an annual Awards Night, and club training days.
To be successful you will require strong organisational and administrative skills, a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. Additionally, you must work well in a team environment, ideally demonstrating experience working with student leaders and/or volunteers.
The role is part time (0.5 FTE), and paid at Student Union Employee Level 2 of the Monash Student Association (Clayton) Enterprise Agreement, $39,752 pro rata, $79,504 per annum) plus superannuation.
Ideally, MSA would prefer the role to encompass 3 or 4 shorter working days to make up the 18.375 hours. However, they are open to discussing flexibility regarding the working arrangements. The option to work from home would be on an ad hoc basis only.
