About this Opportunity
The Elite Athlete Program Officers are responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Elite Athlete Program. They are the primary contact for all UQ student elite athletes and sporting scholarship holders and involves the coordination of all student elite athlete communication; academic liaison; coordinating the annual scholarship process and other funding programs; and linking with various UQ student services to provide exceptional support to enhance the student elite athlete experience.
UQ Sport currently have a vacancy in their Elite Athlete Program Officer team. Reporting to the Campus Engagement Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career in supporting student elite athletes. You will be a champion in building engaging and trusted relationships, communication, and time management.
In this role you will:
- Coordinates the Elite Athlete and Sporting Scholarship programs
- Provides general and individualised advice to student elite athletes to support their academic and sporting ambitions
- Acts as the primary contact for student athletes, maintaining effective channels of communications and prioritising sensitive matters with a confidential approach
- Develops and maintains administrative systems, procedures, and records management to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in sports administration/management/education/psychology or related area
- Prior experience in a similar position with demonstrated knowledge of university sport and funding programs and Elite Sport Education Network guiding principles.
- First aid and CPR Certification
- Mental Health First Aid Certification
- Blue card
