UniSC Student Guild
Role Overview:
UniSC Student Guild are searching for a supportive and professional team member to join their small but mighty team. Under the direction of the Student Guild Campus Lead (Sunshine Coast), the UniSC Student Guild Student Engagement Officer will work as part of the team to organise and deliver events and activities, with a focus on marketing and comms. This position is based primarily at the Sippy Downs campus, but may involve occasional travel to other Queensland-based campuses.
The position is flexible hours for the right candidate – between 3 and 5 days per week.
The start date for this position is flexible – they’d love to have you on board by the end of January 2026.
This is a maternity cover role until December 2026.
What the day-to-day looks like:
1. Events! Organising and delivering a variety of events on the Sunshine Coast Campus.
2. Social Media! Creating and delivering fun and innovative social media campaigns that connect with their community.
3. Promotions! Capturing events through video and images, developing and maintaining their website, and promoting our services through on-campus print and digital advertising.
4. Connection! Daily engagement with students in their Student Lounge and connecting with students through weekly email updates.
5. Welfare! Helping students cope with the cost of living through welfare support programs.
There is some evening and weekend work required in this role, for which overtime rates apply.
Are you a good match?
They are looking for someone who is a great fit for our team and organisation. Flexibility, innovation and a desire to connect with students is a must. If you have a tertiary qualification in marketing, event management or a related field, or equivalent experience – please reach out! This role would suit a recent grad with their finger on the social media pulse.
This role involves working with people from a variety of backgrounds – domestic students, international students, Guild staff, University staff, and making external community connections. You should be a people-person who thrives on connecting and helping others.
You should also have good communication skills (oral and written), an understanding and sensitivity to dealing with vulnerable people, and the physical capability to deliver on-site events of various sizes, including transporting equipment and manual handling.
