About The Role
UQ Union are seeking an up-and-coming social media gun who can wrangle multiple profiles across multiple platforms. You’ll be UQU’s campus correspondent whose job it is to keep the students of UQ informed and up to date on all the latest happenings of the UQ Union including events, campaigns and initiatives, Clubs & Societies, giveaways, business trading specials, and support services info. As the primary developer of content you’ll have a lot of creative freedom to shape the social media content plan and identify new ways to contribute to the Marketing strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and implementing social media content plans that effectively contribute to achieving outcomes of the broader UQU marketing strategy
- Monitoring and analysis of social media content plans and campaigns, to ensure their effectiveness and continued improvement
- Ensuring social media activities and campaigns are in line with UQU brand positioning and values
- Researching, writing, curating and commissioning content for all of UQU’s social media platforms.
- Developing social media guidelines for use including style guidelines for each platform.
- Keeping abreast of new social media resources, best practice and trends to integrate in to UQU’s digital strategy as appropriate.
- Contributing to, other internal and external communications activities and collateral such as e-newsletters, corporate publications, videos, blogs, and podcasts.
- Supporting website administration and digital marketing functions.
- Briefing Graphic Designer for digital asset creation as required.
About You

The successful candidate will have:
- excellent attention to detail & be driven to produce high-quality content
- the ability to organise and prioritise tasks while working within a fast-paced environment
- good interpersonal skills, with a knack for communicating with key stakeholders (both written & verbal)
- a degree qualification in Marketing/Comms (desirable) OR relevant equivalent experience
- demonstrated experience in developing and delivering creative content across a range of social media platforms
- the ability to identify trends, incorporating these into content planning and development
- experience analysing the performance of content and campaigns and providing constructive feedback for future improvements.
- a strong understanding of the values, interests and communication styles of Gen Z and university student market.
- A drivers licence and reliable vehicle, to support travel between campuses on occasion
- Skills in photography and photo/video editing will be highly valued but not essential
