SESSION OVERVIEW
Andrew Minutillo was the 2025 recipient of the Joe Curtis Scholarship, assisting him in travelling to the United Kingdom and Italy to study student engagement in an international context.
The study tour focused on the 2026 Membership Services Conference, in Manchester, United Kingdom. Brining together over 100 Student Unions/Student Experience organisations across the UK.
This presentation is an exploration and report on some of the insights and findings from this tour. Exploring new ideas, trend reports, comparative analyses and other findings across London, Manchester and Rome.
Session Outcomes:
Gaining an insight into student experience in an international context. Andrew believes it’s important to look cross culturally to deepen our own understanding of our industry and working style, as well as gaining new ideas from across the globe.

Andrew Minutillo works at ActivateUTS as Manager, Student Life (Programs and Wellbeing). His areas of focus are student engagement, with a lens on Wellbeing, Creative and Performing Arts, Volunteering and more broadly, student experience. Andrew also has a key focus on impact-based reporting and the benefits of student participation.
