
SESSION OVERVIEW
The OzHarvest NEST program is a public health nutrition initiative designed to make healthy eating simple, enjoyable, and affordable. Over six weeks, 15 participants learn practical cooking skills and how to prepare nutritious meals on a budget. In 2025, the program was piloted at Monash Student Association (MSA) on the Clayton campus. MSA also supports students through volunteer-led cooking classes and a student-run Instagram recipe account.
This session will include a discussion component, providing participants with the opportunity to share their own programs, experiences, and ideas within the context of food education.
This will be followed by a member roundtable on Food Programs. This will be an opportunity to share what programs you have on your campus, what is working well, what you would like to impove and hear what others are doing on thier campuses. There will also be discussion around collaboratove opportunities.
PRESENTER
Stefanie Maccar is a seasoned university student services professional with over 15 years of experience in service and program development, volunteer coordination, and event management. Her passions lie in student mentoring and training, with a deep interest in student wellbeing and food relief.
