SESSION OVERVIEW
Effective succession planning ensures that leadership transitions in university clubs and societies are smooth and sustainable. At the 2024 SENCON event, this workshop is tailored specifically for University Student Engagement Staff. You’ll learn how to guide student leaders through the “6 R’s of SUCCESSion Planning” framework to help them build a strategic, forward-looking approach to leadership transitions. By helping clubs and societies implement these steps, you’ll ensure continuity, growth, and long-term success within student organisations.
Session Outcomes
1. Reflection: Equip student leaders with tools to reflect on past leadership experiences, identifying key lessons to improve future transitions.
2. Results: Teach clubs how to set clear, measurable goals for leadership success, ensuring continuity in achieving long-term objectives.
3. Roles: Assist student organisations in identifying critical roles and structuring teams for future growth.
4. Responsibilities: Guide clubs in defining clear responsibilities and objectives for leadership roles to foster accountability and measurable success.
5. Recruitment & Retention: Support student leaders in developing recruitment and retention strategies to ensure they attract the right talent and maintain engagement during transitions.
