Advocacy Manager – Swinburne Student Association
About The Role
The Manager, Advocacy will lead the Advocacy Service with a bespoke team at Swinburne University and will oversee responsibility for the delivery and continuous improvement of a high-quality and independent Advocacy Service to all Swinburne students.
The incumbent will oversee the provision of independent advice and advocacy on behalf of students and the resolution of student concerns in line with University policies and procedures and deliver quality customer service. You will foster self-management of student inquiries wherever possible and actively manage complex student matters.
The Manager, Advocacy is a subject matter expert in the field of policy and regulation and provides evidence-informed advice and leadership to the CEO in the development of best practice policy and procedures as they apply to tertiary education delivery and service provision.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team whilst directly managing a caseload
- Demonstrated relevant experience in casework, advocacy, community engagement.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload ensuring cases are completed within a minimum set timeframe
- Demonstrated ability to document cases in a CRM (such as Salesforce) and experience with Microsoft Office
- An ability to develop plans and objectives for short term tasks and contributing to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.
About Swinburne Student Association
Swinburne Student Association (SSA) is a newly formed student association tasked with overseeing the provision of a range of services to students at Swinburne University of Technology. These services include Clubs and Sports, a range of leadership and student wellbeing initiatives, Advocacy and our Events and Experience Program across Swinburne’s campuses.
The SSA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of three Swinburne appointees and six elected Student Directors, supported by a workforce of 25 staff who are dedicated to delivering a world-class student experience at Swinburne.
