SENCON 2023 will be held from the 20th to the 23rd November 2023 at the University of Wollongong, kindly supported by our member on campus UOW Pulse.

Anyone who works in the tertiary student services sector would benefit from attending SENCON 2023. The conference gives tertiary student services staff the chance to be informed by the latest industry trends, inspired by industry best practice and engaged via the multiple networking opportunities with peers.

SENCON 2023 has been programmed in response to extensive member feedback for a program that supports more time for sharing… to see, hear, and discuss topics relevant to what is happening on campuses.

Content, stories and experiences in specific areas of Student Services will be shared in facilitated group discussions. Delegates will hear about successful best practice case studies plus discuss new ideas, current challenges and possible solutions.

SENCON 2023 will provide you with fantastic opportunities to network and engage with new ideas, services and products.

This conference will support you in delivering the best student experience on your campus.

SENCON is an annual event that brings together delegates representing the varied student service disciplines on tertiary campuses around Australia and New Zealand. Incorporating five conference streams focusing on management/commercial services/student engagement/student support/clubs and societies, the conference focuses on showcasing the best in student experience on our shared campuses.

One of the highlights of the conference is the SEN Expo, this year held on the afternoon of Conference Day 2. A dynamic event, this is your opportunity to engage with suppliers, check out new products and services and be introduced to innovative concepts.

Aside from the conference and expo, there are a number of opportunities to network with your peers. There is the pre-conference fun social evening on the night before SENCON, plus free networking drinks directly after the SEN Expo on Conference Day 2. The networking drinks are a great opportunity to connect with likeminded peers within your community group of interest.

Last, but not least, is the Student Experience Network Awards Gala Dinner. An evening of celebration where members are recognised for their achievements over the past year. See the award categories here.

No, you do not require physical tickets to attend SENCON 2023. For online registrations, when text refers to the word “ticket”, it is merely a standard of the website. Delegates will however be required to wear a name tag at all times, which can be collected upon arrival on Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference. These name tags will allow entry to each day of SENCON and the SEN Expo.

Yes you will require your name tag for the entirety of the conference. Please be aware that anybody without a name tag will not be permitted to attend. All delegates will receive these when registering on Day 1 or Day 2 of conference.

At the registration desk when you arrive, you will be asked to choose a coloured lanyard to attach to your conference name tag.

Each of the colours represents a “Community of Practice” within the SEN network:

  • Black – Management (includes strategy, governance, madministration, finance, and HR)
  • Orange – Commercial and Retail
  • Blue – Student Engagement (includes activities, events, marketing, and communications)
  • Purple– Clubs and Societies (includes social sport and recreation)
  • Green – Student Support (includes volunteering, welfare, and wellbeing)
  • White – Advocacy

The lanyards will help you identify other delegates with similar areas of focus, and assist you in creating your own network of peers across the wider SEN membership.

Of course, just because your primary focus may be in one area, the nature of the sector is that most members wear multiple hats, so delegates are free to attend ANY session they wish at SENCON. You are not limited to sessions relating to your lanyard colour.

If you are experiencing difficulty in convincing your management that you really should attend this valuable conference, perhaps this Justification Letter template may be helpful.

You are only able to register 1 delegate at a time via the registration link.

This is so we can capture all required details for each delegate.

Should you wish to register multiple delegates at the one time, please contact us at info@studentexperiencenetwork.com.au

Please complete the registration form and you will be invoiced for the total amount as calculated based on tickets purchased.

The form provides you with the option to nominate an email address to send the Invoice to.

Please note, Invoice terms are 14 days.  Invoice must be paid in full prior to attendance at SENCON 2023.
