Grants and Sponsorships Officer – University of Newcastle Student Association
About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager (Marketing & Communications), you will be responsible for identifying, applying for, and managing grants and sponsorships to support UNSA’s programs and initiatives. This role involves building strong relationships with councils, funding bodies, and external organisations to ensure alignment with UNSA’s mission and strategic objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Funding Research & Acquisition: Proactively identify and apply for grants and sponsorships from councils, external organisations, and funding bodies.
- Proposal Writing: Develop compelling proposals that clearly communicate UNSA’s vision and impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with funding partners and sponsors.
- Project Management: Oversee the full grant and sponsorship cycle—from research and submission to compliance and reporting.
- Collaboration: Work with internal teams to align funding opportunities with existing UNSA programs and events.
About you
✔️ Proven experience in securing grants and sponsorships through well-researched and persuasive applications.
✔️ Exceptional writing skills for funding proposals and reports.
✔️ Strong relationship-building abilities to engage with councils, businesses, and funding bodies.
✔️ Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple applications and ensure compliance.
✔️ The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Experience working within the higher education or not-for-profit sector.
- A passion for student services and community engagement.
