Human Resources and Payroll Coordinator – Swinburne Student Association
About The Role
The Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator (part-time) will oversee SSA’s Human Resources (HR) and payroll functions. This includes providing strategic support in the areas of recruitment, on-boarding, induction, and compliance.
Reporting to the Manager, Operations, this role has responsibility for providing generalist HR advice to all internal and external stakeholders as well as end-to-end ownership of the employee life cycle.
The Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator will also contribute to the continuous improvement of organisational processes involving HR & Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Please note that this role is for four days a week (0.8 FTE).
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- We’re looking for an experienced operator in a human resources role, preferably in the community / education sector.
- Proven ability to manage the fortnightly payroll processes with coordination using finance/payroll cloud based software (Employment Hero/Xero proficiency will be preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- High-level administrative skillset with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle end-to-end recruitment, induction and onboarding processes, ensuring seamless integration of new staff and adherence to our organisation standards.
Completion of a degree relevant to Human Resources or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
About Swinburne Student Association
Swinburne Student Association (SSA) is a newly formed student association tasked with overseeing the provision of a range of services to students at Swinburne University of Technology. These services include Clubs and Sports, a range of leadership and student wellbeing initiatives, Advocacy and our Events and Experience Program across Swinburne’s campuses.
The SSA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of three Swinburne appointees and six elected Student Directors, supported by a workforce of 25 staff who are dedicated to delivering a world-class student experience at Swinburne.
